Midkiff Cemetery Flower and Monument Policy

• Permanent stone markers with the deceased’s name are required for all graves.  These should be arranged for and placed by the family within 6 months of burial.

• Monuments and fixtures are limited to headstones and footstones.  These should be either a minimum of 4” above grade or level with the ground to allow for proper grounds-keeping.

• Headstones/footstones are to be of stone or other permanently engraved material and of accepted standard design, not to exceed 52 inches in width at the base for a single grave and 104 inches in width for a double grave; maximum height of 42 inches; and centered/located so as not to encroach on another grave/plot.

• No other fixtures (fencing, statues, benches, vases, flags, etc.) are allowed to be placed within the cemetery without the express written permission of the cemetery trustees.  Any such items placed here will be removed and discarded.

• Floral arrangements and decorations must be in permanent headstone vases or affixed to headstones.  Any other arrangements or decorations will be removed and discarded.

  • Exception:  Ground-level arrangements are allowed for one month after burial (and at Christmas and Easter).  They must be removed after that time (and all will be removed after Easter to facilitate grounds keeping).

• Any floral arrangements or decorations which are obviously worn, faded, loose from their mounts, etc. will be removed and discarded.
